More about our Panel

Raquel Stevens, Senior Producer, 9am

Raquel Stevens is the Senior Producer of the 9am Program wth David Reyne and Kim Watkins on Channel Ten.
Raquel started her media career as a cadet journalist for the Western Times Newspaper in Footscray. She then moved to Radio 3AW as assistant producer of the Breakfast Program with Ross Stevenson and Dean Banks at just 21 years of age.
Raquel then moved to Channel Ten, as one of the first female sports reporters. After 12 months she then made her break into general news, where she spent the next 8 years covering courts, police and politics. In 2004 she took on her biggest challenge, parenting. Raquel is the mother of two and half year old twin boys.

Ian Gilbert, Deputy Editor, Sunday Age - M magazine

Ian Gilbert cut his teeth as a reporter on weekly newspapers in west London before becoming a sub-editor, working on weekly and dailies in London and the South-East. After a one-year sojourn picking grapes and working in restaurants in France, he wound up in Australia on a working holiday visa in the late-90s, eventually being sponsored for residency by Leader Newspapers. He was worked at The Age for four years, predominantly on sport, and is now deputy editor of The Sunday Age's M magazine, as well as contributing to The Age Good Food Guide.

Tony Kaye, Managing Director, Seeking Media

In a career spanning more than 20 years, Tony Kaye has worked on both sides of the media fence. For many years he was a section editor and senior journalist on newspapers including The Sun-News Pictorial, The Australian Financial Review and The Age before moving into corporate communications with the international credit ratings agency Standard & Poors. He continues to contribute articles to newspapers and magazines including The Australian, and has just launched an online media release distribution portal called seekingmedia.com.au

Seekingmedia.com.au is a sophisticated platform linked to a database of almost 3000 national, metropolitan, regional and local Australian media outlets and includes more than 120 industry targeted media lists to help companies reach the media that is most relevant to them. Users can send their releases by email and/or fax to the desktops of thousands of media at a fixed cost, saving them both time and money.
